Boiled Rice

Put the rice into a fine sieve and cleanse and rinse under running water.
Transfer rice to a bowl and cover and leave to soak for 30 minutes

In a saucepan add 1 1/2 cups water for every cup of rice to be cooked.
Drain the rice and add it to the pot
Place the saucepan over high heat and bring to the boil uncovered.
Stir occasionally to avoid rice clumping together.

When the rice is boiling, turn the heat down to low and cover the pan.
Keeping it tilted to allow steam to escape simmer for about 15 minutes or
Until all the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender.

Fluff up the rice and serve with the rest of the meal.


For best results try using long grain rice.
